The Supreme Court has asked the Centre to set up a committee to review temple management practices nationwide in the interest of devotees.
Such a committee would examine best practices followed in temples for replication elsewhere and donations would be utilised better for running temples and ensuring facilities for pilgrims. The move may draw hackles of those opposed to government interference in temple management.
